The Quality Control Guide for Local Roads was identified by the IPWEA NSW Board as an essential tool to guide road managers in building quality into the road design and construction process at each stage.

Quality considerations are detailed in the total road asset procurement process including:

  • Investigation.
  • Design.
  • Procurement.
  • Construction.
  • Maintenance.

It is important that quality is considered throughout the entire process if best value road assets are to be provided for the community at least whole-of-life cost.
The Guide is not intended to fully detail each step involved in the control of quality, but rather to provide a map of where a focus on embracing quality can deliver best results.

The document is available for download with member council access or by registering for free.
